What We Do

We serve state agencies and community members. Our goal is to change systems throughout state government to advance a Washington for All.

Serving Agencies

We help agencies build Impact Teams and create real partnerships with communities. These work together to create lasting change.

We provide strategies, tools, and resources to help agencies develop their strategies for changing systems. When done well, this creates positive changes in workplace culture that improve outcomes for the people they serve in the 15 Statewide Impact Areas.

Serving Community

Our work is grounded in serving all Washingtonians. We center the people we serve in everything we do.

This keeps us focused on how people experience government services. We model this approach for other agencies to show how equity and belonging work together. While much of our work happens with agencies, we know we're ultimately working to change policies and practices to benefit all Washingtonians.

That's why we also serve community.

How We Are Different

We know that state government hasn't always worked well for many people. While some families have benefited from government services, harmful practices and policies have hurt communities of color and other marginalized groups. We're honest about this history and take it into account in all our work. We must remove these harmful approaches from how we conduct business and serve the people.

We are different because we hold ourselves accountable.

We are transparent about our work.

We take responsibility even when it's uncomfortable.

We welcome difficult conversations because we can learn and grow from them.

We make clear commitments to equity and track our progress openly.

We won't accept a government that doesn't work for all Washingtonians.

We model this work, and we invite everyone to join us and be different too!
