I absolutely love to spend time outside, especially to swim and paddle board. My partner and I can be found regularly camped out in some hideout at all times of year with a cold drink, appreciating nature. I love creatures (especially creepy crawlies and plants), making all kinds of art, volunteering locally, challenging myself with learning something new, and reading. I cannot stop listening to music and I find it to be one of my favorite ways to connect with people.
I think my superpower is my relentless drive to learn and support people in making healthy boundaries, whether that's personally or professionally. I work on a lot of different kinds of projects in a day, anywhere from writing a newsletter to editing a video. I'm always (being forced to haha) learn something new in every aspect of my position and negotiate a lot of different information. All of this with care to the individual and their uniqueness. That care and creativity are what I contribute to this space.
The work of changemaking requires a lot of diving into being uncomfortable and talking about or experiencing conflict. Finding that sweet point of educating, challenging, and holding someone's hand through it all is part of why I am here. Being able to point to that nuance of people's lived experience is a skill! I've worn a wild number of hats in my life -- ranging from urban barber to rural homeschool kid to costuming large theatrical productions to organizing aide for folks without homes. My last role was at King County Equity Now, working directly in coordinating and putting on events with Black community in the Central District in Seattle, WA. In all of those roles, I've worked with so many beautiful complex wonderful Washingtonians - my neighbors, friends, and family - who are all the continued pillar of my work.
