Determinants of Equity

We must invest where the needs are greatest to achieve our vision where everyone in Washington has access to the opportunities, power, and resources to flourish and achieve their full potential. Washington State is investing in addressing upstream, root cause, issues that perpetuate systemic inequities in Community, Family, Infrastructure, and Government.

The Determinants of Equity are the social, economic, geographic, political, and physical conditions that determine equity conditions in Washington and by which current and future progress toward becoming a fair and just society can be measured. To see equitable outcomes, we must cultivate the determinants of equity by investing in PEAR within our organizations.
