Culture and Belonging Administrator

I love all things art and adventure, which I believe is why I have found success and fulfillment in my career (+ ethics, integrity, optimism, humor, etc.) despite the challenges of being a bull in cabinet of old, expensive dishes. At the end of the day, Human Resources is about people and culture, and those two things are equal parts art and adventure. My belief in people over profit, faith over religion, and freedom over judgment is at the core of what drives me to pursue justice for all.

After 20+ years of state government HR experience, I understand the HR system and the significant position of power it holds to either help or hinder people and communities for generations. I also believe that at the heart of HR people is the desire to help. My vision is for the leaders, innovators and change makers of the HR community to come together to advance HR systems change and create access and inclusion for all.

I'm a Native woman of Salish descent whose cultural heritage was colonized to near complete erasure. My husband is a Black man and we have teenage children who are learning to love themselves and live proudly as Black-presenting, Afro-Indigenous people in the world. My why is my family and using my white-presenting privilege to fight for access and inclusion for all people and communities is my purpose.
