Beth is a seasoned Human Resources (HR) professional with over two decades of experience within the Washington State government. Her expertise spans the employee life cycle with a passion for cultivating equitable hiring systems and fostering inclusive people practices. In 2019, she played an instrumental role in establishing Blacks United In Leadership and Diversity. Her journey took an unexpected turn in 2021 and she found herself relocating to North Carolina with her family. In the spirit of making a positive impact, she founded Higher Purpose Human Resources with a vision of HR that advances freedom, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace and the world. A public servant at heart, she has been helping nonprofit leaders get affordable HR expertise when they need it most, so they can do more good in the world. 

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Beth is a devoted mom, wife, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, and loyal friend. She embraces her dual heritage—a white woman in the world and a Native spirit dancer of Salish descent in her soul. Her love for art, dance, culture, movies, nature, travel, adventure, comedy, and admiration for badass women reflect the diverse and dynamic facets that define her. Beth was born and raised in Olympia and spent more than a decade in Vancouver with her husband Andre, an Army veteran who has worked for the Department of Revenue for over twenty years, and their children Tayden and Skyla. As a native Washingtonian, she is excited to be part of creating, modeling, and embedding a pro-equity, anti-racist way of life in the community and looks forward to visiting her family, friends, and colleagues often.
