Honoring humanity creates an equitable and just society.

Good Trouble Makers

The “Good Trouble Award” in honor of and inspired by John R. Lewis and his legacy.

"Good Trouble Makers" are everyday people who take bold and courageous action to call out, identify, and remove disparities. They are fueled by their own passion to create equity and justice for all for a lifetime, igniting passion in others. They are visionaries who "do not get lost in a sea of despair, remain hopeful, and optimistic,” seeing possibilities when others see obstacles. They are risk takers who take action, big and small, to create a better environment for everyone. They are never, ever afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble."

Champions for Equity

A group, or organization that effects a significant shift in the current manner of doing or thinking about something.

“Champions for Equity” are transformers and builders. They forge partnerships to revolutionize culture, systems, laws, policies, and practices. They encourage decision makers to go beyond the "tactical" towards the "strategic" to create equitable, just, sustainable futures for all. They are visionaries who lead with racial and social justice, even when it's tough and unpopular. They believe and act in ways that support all people, no matter their backgrounds, valuing equity, racial and social justice, access, and belonging as true business imperatives. They aren't perfect—they embrace humanity in all its imperfections and also embrace equity as a lifelong journey.
